4-String Rickenbacker 4003s Neck Pickup Replacement
Michael has installed and wired his new MJS 4-String “Nacho” pickup…He says:
“All I can say is wow. This pickup is everything I wanted and more. I wired the bass with a 3 way selector, master volume, master tone, then a 6 position varitone. I can now dial in any sound I wanted and more. When everything is wide open both pickups are finally balanced in volume. Lastly the design is amazing, honestly I don’t know why this isn’t factory, it looks like something you could order direct. Very finally, the pickup design makes a handy thumb rest so I can finally get rid of the zero mod rest. It was useful but I never liked the look. I went with a walnut pickguard and had to wait for it to be manufactured, but I feel like it gives it a nice look rather than the white Plexi. The current picture is the final mockup before I put a gloss finish on the pickguard to match the rest of the bass. It’s been a pleasure. When I get another weird idea I’ll let you know!”
