Hi Smitty, This is a review in progress, but wanted to share how pleasantly surprised I have been with my new MJS Custom Pickup set (Hum IV Bridge + Black Earth Hum II Neck). Was expecting an improvement over my previous setup of course, but it definitely feels like night and day here. The Hum IV Bridge is a match made in heaven with my Marshall’s. As crunchy as it gets. And the pickup itself has given new utility to the volume and tone pots. Rolling back on the knobs and coil splitting makes it much more versatile than I thought. It’s also incredible how easy it brings out the harmonics in every bend or vibrato. Although I still need to get more playing time on it (I’m a bridge pickup player after all), I think the Black Earth Neck pickup takes the prize! It’s such a welcome addition. There is zero muddiness here and I’ve played stock Gibson neck pickups in $4K guitars that never got rid of this problem. In the clean channel I have been able to get pretty good acoustic-like sounds with it. It’s really flexible and pairs well with effects and plugins. Appreciate the quality pickups, great advice, and awesome customer support. Thanks once again!
