Hey Smitty!  I loaded the Black Earths and the Stacked Strat in my guitar this weekend.  The Stacked Strat through my Mesa 6L6 and 6L6/EL34 clean channels revealed:  Warm tone with prominent bass and the bell-like, high-end clarity one would expect out of a traditional single coil.  I worried that the Floyd Rose on this guitar would suck the life and bass out of any pickup placed in the middle position, but the Stacked Strat proved this wrong.  The pickup is incredibly responsive to pick attack, giving the sound a lot of dynamic range.

The Black Earths through EL34 higher gain channels were tightly focused on the low end, giving a low-end punch without getting ‘flubby’.  The upper-middle range displays warm, harmonic sparkle that cuts through without high-end shrillness that I’ve experienced with other pickups.

The Black Earths and the Stacked Strat have re-vitalized this guitar.  Thanks for the magic and sorcery you’ve woven into these pickups!
